One would think it would be easy to sculpt a creature that has no bones. Actually, I found it makes it more difficult, especially when trying to capture the stealthy, undulating motion of the octopus. I sculpted my octopus with a camouflaged, flowing form to contrast with the smooth base. His arms curl and coil, propelling him along and, at the same time, carefully exploring the surroundings.
